A youth worker who has become popular for his viral TikTok videos has revealed how to unlock a supermarket trolley using a key from a corned beef can.
The university student from Sydney, known as Pnuks online, jumped on board the trend of people unlocking Aldi coin-operated trolleys for free with everyday items.
Pnuks said in his TikTok video with more than 187,000 views that he was ‘too lazy’ try out the hack at Aldi so opted for his local Woolworths around the corner.

He took the key from the corn beef tin to the supermarket, walked over to the trolley bay, lined his key up to the money slot, inserted it and jimmied the lock.
It took the young man a matter of seconds to open the lock rendering the trolley ‘free to use’.
He shared the ‘shockingly effective’ hack online and told his huge following to use the knowledge wisely, hundreds were quick to leave gracious comments.
‘This knowledge feels illegal,’ one follower jokingly wrote.
Another shopper recently shared her secret for how to unlock a trolley without using any gold coins or a trolley key.
Customer Mandy, from the Gold Coast, used 25 cents to successfully unlock a coin-operated trolley from the supermarket that charges $2 for usage.
To perform the simple shopping hack Mandy pushed a five cent coin inside the trolley slot followed by two ten cent coins.

After pushing the silver change inside the slot the trolley simply unlocked itself for Mandy to use and after her shop the coins ‘popped back out’.
Her video has since been viewed more than 56,000 times and has received many comments from fellow Aldi customers: ‘I’m going to try this,’ one shopper wrote.
