Singer Troye Sivan steps out for the 33rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles

Troye Sivan opted for a retro-inspired all-white ensemble when he stepped out for the 33rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The 26-year-old singer donned a long-sleeve white button-up shirt with colourful floral beading on the cuffs, pockets and collar.

He also wore a matching pair of white pants, which featured colourful beading along the side seams.

Troye rounded out his quirky ensemble with a pair of black patent boots, and he accessorised with a gold beaded necklace.

Meanwhile, his short dark brunette hair was styled in tousled curls. 

The annual awards show honours ‘media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues’, according to GLAAD.

In an interview with BuzzFeed in February, Troye – who came out publicly in August 2013 – revealed that Zac Efron had ‘turned me gay’. 

Troye said he met the 34-year-old actor when he auditioned for the 2010 film, Charlie St. Cloud, and was smitten.  

‘There was this movie called Charlie St. Cloud with Zac Efron in it – and there was a young boy,’ he recounted. 

‘I flew to LA to do a chemistry read with Zac Efron – and keep in mind that he turned me gay. Legitimately! I was so young and I was in love with this man. And I didn’t get the part.’

Troye added that he hasn’t seen Zac since the audition, but went on to describe the High School Musical star as his childhood crush. 

The Angel Baby singer also revealed that his ideal date is only ’30 to 40 minutes long’ – just enough time to ‘suss out if it’s worth going on a second date or not’.
