The premises is listed on Rightmove and Jan Merriott, from estate agents Symonds and Sampson, said: ‘The front of this property does make it look funny and even narrower than it actually is.

‘But once you get inside it’s not actually as small as it seems.

‘We sold it to the current owners about ten years ago. They liked it because it was quirky and they are selling floorboards, which are obviously nice and long.

‘They’ve just used the living accommodation for storage so it does need a bit of TLC to get that up and running now.

‘The living accommodation can only be reached through the shop so it would need to be someone using the business and the flat, you couldn’t rent out the flat separately.

‘I could see it being used for some sort of internet business where you have occasional visitors that need to come in to the shop.

‘But you could have a compact little existence there for just £175,000.

‘There’s a south-facing deck on the top floor perfect for having a gin and tonic in the evenings – what more could one want?’

The quirky business has already had interest and offers, according to Mr Merriott.
