A hilarious video of a squirrel who mistook a man for a tree has gone viral.
Gabriela, a TikTok user from London, filmed the moment a grey squirrel ran up her friend’s shirt while he was trying to enter his building.
The clip has gained over 49,000 likes and has received hundreds of likes by fellow users who were left in stitches over the hilarious encounter.

The injured man had to be helped out by friends who took his jacket off in a bid to let the squirrel out
The video starts with the squirrel already clinging onto the man’s t-shirt and shorts.
The man, who is on crutches, asks his friends to slowly remove his jacket so they can get a clear view of the little visitor.
The squirrel then dashes up the man’s back before his friends step in and flick the squirrel away with his hat.
The desperate man tries to hop away but doesn’t have great mobility because he is on crutches.
Gabriela titled her video ‘Man vs Squirrel’, then followed up with a second clip that showed the squirrel clinging on to the man’s trousers, which she captioned: ‘Poor thing only wanted some nuts’.
After being thrown from the man, the squirrel hid in the corner looking bewildered at what at just happened
In a follow up video, Gabriela shared that the squirrel had at first climbed the man’s leg and clung on
Gabriela later explained: ‘He tried to bite and had his nails gripped onto his skin for a good 10 minutes! I personally wouldn’t have him on me at all.
‘It’s weird because they never approach humans like this; squirrel was on his shoe for a good 3 minutes without moving; I think he lost his mother’.
‘The squirrel was safe, we put him on the tree and gave him some nuts, he just didn’t want to let go of my mate.’
Some people found the whole situation hilarious.
One person said: ‘The Squirrel chose him as it knew the guy can’t run.’ Another wrote: ‘The squirrel thought it had found its forever owner’.
While a third person said: ‘Squirrel thought he was a tree…he been stood still for so long’.
Others, however, were concerned for the wellbeing of the squirrel after being thrown from the man’s arm.

One person wrote: ‘It probs lost a parent and feels scared it’s only being friendly don’t be so harsh’.
Another person agreed, saying: ‘Aww poor thing bet it was so scared.’

To which Gabriela responded: ‘I bet everyone on here saying this wouldn’t even dare have the squirrel on them for 10mins like he did! The squirrel was hurting him with his nails’.
Other commenters found the whole scene hilarious and implied that the squirrel chose the injured man as he couldn’t run away
