The ‘game-changing’ Woolworths hack heading to ALL stores – and it will slash the time of your grocery shop

  • Woolworths shoppers are marvelling over a ‘game changing’ hack
  • On TikTok Queenie Tan, from Sydney, shared how to use the Scan & Go feature
  • This allows customers to shop as they go by scanning barcodes using a phone
  • Once finished, customers don’t need to line up and simply scan a QR code
  • Currently the service is only available at limited Woolworths stores

A video helping shoppers save time on their trips to Woolworths has taken the internet by storm.

Sydney finance guru Queenie Tan, 25, tried the supermarket’s new Scan & Go feature, which allows customers to scan their items as they shop and avoid lining up in long checkout queues.

In the short clip she demonstrated how it works and dubbed the new technology ‘life-changing’.

The supermarket giant has started offering the new service across 49 store locations around Australia, and will likely expand the scheme even further.

Queenie Tan, from Sydney, (pictured) shared a now-viral video on TikTok detailing how to use the new Woolworths Scan & Go feature on the Wooloworths app

'Just open the Woolworths app and click on settings [then] Scan & Go,' she said

‘You need to try this Woolies hack!’ Queenie said in a short clip.

‘Just open the Woolworths app and click on settings [then] Scan & Go.’

In the video, Queenie can be seen browsing the aisles and shopping for desired goods, explaining how once the item is scanned it can be placed in your bag.

‘You will see how much it will cost and how many items you have,’ Queenie said, adding: ‘I don’t have to be shocked at the counter anymore!’

To scan fruit and vegetables that don’t have a barcode, simply place the item on the scale then scan the barcode that pops up.

‘The scale atomically knows what [food] it is. It’s like magic,’ Queenie joked.

‘When you’re done shopping you can head to the Scan & Go counter and the best part is there’s no line and your food is already in your shopping bags.

‘So all you need to do is pay and leave!’

At the moment the new feature isn’t available at every Woolworths store, but it’s likely to be rolled out and incorporated in larger supermarket locations.

‘Scan&Go is the faster, smarter way to shop for your groceries at Woolworths, available at 49 stores across Australia,’ a Woolworths spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.

As Woolworths opens new stores and renew existing stores, Scan&Go will be considered part of the mix.

Queenie’s video has since been viewed more than 700,000 times, with many wanting to try the technology for themselves.

‘I was going to do this a while ago then totally forgot about it! Thanks for the reminder,’ one person wrote.

Another added: ‘That’s awesome’.
