The Grand Canyon Track sits in the World Heritage listed rainforest near Blackheath in the Blue Mountains, less than two hours drive east of Sydney. 

Keen explorers have found secret swimming holes, caves and canyons along the walk which is lined by sandstone walls of ferns and waterfalls.

Trodden since 1907, the spectacular looped track is well-worn yet can be challenging for some and takes about three to four hours to complete. 

Grand Canyon walking track has become a must-see for Blue Mountain visitors and tourists have been leaving five star reviews of the ‘spectacular’ spot they say ‘must be seen to be believed’. 

‘My sister and I have ticked off six of the recommended walks in the Blue Mountains region and so far the Grand Canyon would have to be our favourite,’ one walker wrote.

‘Cleverly sculpted stone stair cases lead down to the bush kept lush and green by recent rainfall and there are several waterfalls, swimming holes and streams to cool off in on a hot day,’ she continued.

‘Fantastic walk, incredible flora and fauna and waterfalls. We did it on a cooler day with light rain which only added to the atmosphere,’ said another.
