At CityHub in Copenhagen – a cross between a hostel and a hotel – guests sleep in Tetris-style L-shaped pods that cost £219 per night.
At first sight, they look claustrophobic, but are, in fact, surprisingly spacious, with enough space inside to fit two adults and luggage.

What’s more, they’re warm and, despite their compact size, almost eerily quiet.
Inside awaits a comfy king-sized bed, two shelves, charging ports, a Bluetooth speaker, enough room to stand up in – and a distorted mirror.
On arrival, guests use a self-serve check-in system and receive a wristband as a key.

But solo travellers hoping to meet like-minded individuals should know that social activities are non-existent and others keep to themselves in the communal areas.
With more than 8,800 reviews on Booking.com and an average score of nine out of ten, it’s easy to see why CityHub is a popular choice for travellers.
But is it worth paying £219 per night – and is there enough space for two people to relax in comfort?

However, CityHub is a memorably quirky experience, with fantastic service from friendly staff and a convenient location just 1.3km (0.8 miles) from Tivoli Gardens and within walking distance of lively bars and restaurants. So all in all, I’d say the price represents good value.
