The Indianapolis Colts have announced they have suspended two players for the rest of the regular season for ‘conduct detrimental to the team’.
Cornerback Tony Brown and receiver Isaiah McKenzie were both healthy inactives for the Colts’ 30-13 win over the Steelers on Saturday.
Now it’s been announced they will miss their final three games of the regular season, too.
The team did not elaborate on the ‘detrimental conduct’ they are believed to have engaged in but sources told ESPN the issue required ‘severe punishment’.
The pair are usually consigned to back-up roles for the Colts but have been important members of the roster this season.

Brown has been important on special teams and played 71 per cent of their snaps this season.
He’s managed to put up one interception, one forced fumble and 10 tackles.
Meanwhile, McKenzie featured in all 13 of the Colts’ games this season before Saturday and had been their lead return man.
He’s record 11 catches for 82 yards, as well as 23 punt returns for 204 yards, averaging 8.9 yards per return.
McKenzie has a better record on kickoffs, returning six for 152 yards with an average of 25.3 yards per return.
It is bad timing for coach Shane Steichen as his Colts team look to wrap up a playoff spot in the coming weeks.
The 8-6 Colts would currently claim the No. 7 seed in the playoff spots if the regular season concluded today.
They face the Falcons, Raiders and Texas in their final three games of the season.
