EastEnders’ Jessie Wallace cut a casual figure as she stocked up on groceries at the supermarket on Saturday, after her character Kat Slater returned to the soap.

The actress, 48, looked low-key in a grey t-shirt, black fur jacket and black trousers as she carried her purchases out of the Tesco store in North London.

Jessie made her return to the BBC drama at the start of last month after being suspended for reportedly appearing drunk on set during filming.

She teamed her casual ensemble with a pair of black fur sliders and made sure to put safety first by donning a black face mask for her trip out.

She also wore a pair of gold-rimmed sunglasses as she made her way back to her Range Rover with heavy bags of shopping.

Jessie arrived back in the Square last month when the soap finally returned to screens, after filming was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jessie was suspended from EastEnders for reportedly appearing drunk on set during filming.

The actress, who has played fiery Kat on and off for nearly two decades, was temporarily written out of storylines after her behaviour was ‘called into question.’

A source told the Sun Online that Jessie’s recent outing to the pub is unlikely to land her in any trouble with her bosses.

They said: ‘Jessie was socialising in her free time, and has reported to work as normal so she will not need to be spoken to.’

It had been claimed that Jessie was hauled into a crisis meeting with show bosses, who were said to have suspended her for two months, ordering her to ‘sort herself out’ before returning.

First look snaps of Kat showed her posing in front of the iconic Queen Vic pub, as fans eagerly awaited EastEnders’ return to screens after the three month break.
