A handful of Australia’s most famous models jetted into Adelaide on Wednesday for a fashion show – only to be faced with the almost inevitable prospect of it being cancelled as South Australia enters a brutal, Melbourne-style lockdown.
The likes of Georgia Fowler, Bambi Northwood-Blyth and Samantha Harris jetted into the city ahead of a virtual runway event for the retailer Pretty Little Thing, but learned within hours they were most likely all dressed up with nowhere to go.

Bad timing? On Wednesday, Georgia Fowler (pictured), Bambi Northwood-Blyth and Samantha Harris wore face masks as they jetted into Adelaide ahead of a virtual fashion show – as South Australia entered a Melbourne-style lockdown
Putting safety first, Georgia, 28, Bambi, 29, and Samantha, 30, were all seen wearing face masks as they walked through the airport terminal carrying their designer bags and waiting for their luggage.
The girls all cut casual figures and seemed in a solemn mood as they touched down, presumably waiting to see if the virtual fashion show will go ahead.
The show was set to be held on Thursday at Adelaide’s famous pink lake, Lake Bumbunga, and was set to be streamed globally on YouTube and Instagram as the world’s longest socially distanced runway.

In South Australia, residents not even allowed to exercise outdoors as the state desperately tries to control a new supercharged strain of coronavirus.
Masks will be mandatory with only one person per household allowed to leave their home for groceries or medical treatment.
Schools will shut, while restaurants, cafes and pubs will close and even be banned from selling takeaway food.
Weddings will be halted and funerals stopped while factories and the construction industry will stop work.

‘We may be physically distanced but South Australians have never been more united. Together, we will get through this because South Australians are strong, resilient and united.’

It’s also been confirmed that it spread into the community after a cleaner at the Peppers Hotel came in contact with the virus, most likely on a surface, and then infected members of her family.
As a result, all those in quarantine at the hotel have been told they will be moved and are required to start their 14-day isolation period again.
‘We understand the frustration of the guests and we thank them for their assistance as we take every required step to prioritise the health and safety of all South Australians,’ SA Health said in a statement.
