A revolutionary skincare laser treatment is making waves in clinics right across Australia as women look to reverse acne scarring, pigmentation and age lines.
Gry Tomte, who owns HUD Skin and Body in Melbourne, uses the BBL laser in various forms to deliver fast and pain-free results for clients – and they can’t stop raving about it.
BBL stands for Broad Band Light and is similar to IPL (Intense Pulsed Light Therapy) but with a larger spectrum of light.
HUD pairs its BBL light with HERO technology (High Energy Rapid Output) which results in less downtime, less risks of complications and less pain overall.
There are several advantages to getting a regular BBL treatment, namely a reduction in melasma, redness, scarring and even fine lines.
Despite the price tag – which sits at $350 for one pass over your entire face – customers are booking in for fast results.
‘I have gained so much more confidence in my skin since trying the laser,’ said one client who dramatically reduced her acne after one session.
‘I can’t thank you all enough for showing me how BBL works – and how it could work for me,’ said another.

Having suffered from acne and pigmentation for over ten years after arriving in Australia, Gry found herself briefly in Canada, determined to learn more about reliable treatments and became obsessed with researching skin conditions and finding ways to treat them effectively.
Driven by her personal pursuit of knowledge she threw herself into the study of all things skin.
Gry obtained her aesthetics diploma in Canada, and after moving back to Australia again she took every opportunity to advance her training, acquiring more than twenty different certificates in advanced modules across IPL, laser, advanced skin analysis, acne modalities, paramedical skin revision and needling.
‘Opening our doors in 2014, HUD was designed to combat my own experience with acne treatments that made me look rapidly older, as they simply peeled away surface layers rather than addressing the root cause,’ she said.
‘Inflammageing is a real thing! And it is the accelerated ageing we see from inflammation caused by constantly peeling away the natural barrier we need to maintain a fully functioning skin microbiome.’
