It is business as usual for Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden as she continues to carry out royal engagements via video calls while in isolation.

Victoria, 42, took part in two video conferences in recent days from Stockholm’s Halga Palace, where she is living with her husband Prince Daniel, 46, and their children, Princess Estelle, eight, and Prince Oscar, four.

The official Instagram account of the Swedish royal family yesterday shared a post of Victoria speaking to the Tokyo 2020 Swedish Parasport Federation and the Swedish Paralympic Committee. She later tuned into webinar about the health of young people in Sweden.

Lockdown is not in effect in Sweden, where COVID-19 affected 7,857 and killed 611, but social distancing has been encouraged, with the royal family leading by example.

The Olympics post shows Victoria working from home in a vibrant red blazer, a white t-shirt and black jeans. Her brown locks were tied into a sleek ponytail, which uncovered a pair of shiny drop earrings.

The royal, who is a honourary member of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), listened to how Sweden’s national committees would be affected by the decision to postpone the games to 2021.

Victoria then expertly switched to another meeting with the Generation Pep, where she tuned into their webinar on their yearly report into children and young people’s health in Sweden.

The report was released on March 31 by the non-profit organisation, which was launched by Prince Daniel and Princess Victoria, and the webinar explored its main themes.

One of this year’s key findings was that ‘only 14 percent of the children and adolescents included in the study move to the extent they need, and eat enough of what the body needs to be healthy.

Sweden’s prime minister told his country to prepare for thousands of deaths as the country faces a backlash over its light-touch response to the coronavirus crisis.

Stefan Löfven admitted that ‘we will have more seriously ill people who need intensive care’, but played down the distinctiveness of Sweden’s approach.

Swedes have been advised to practise social distancing, but schools, bars and restaurants remain open – to the amazement of neighbouring countries which are enforcing strict lockdowns.
