A mother-of-five with an eye for reductions revealed she saved an impressive £173 on her food shopping by only buying items on special offer. 

Lyndsey Graves, from Barton-Upon-Humber, Lincolnshire, revealed she only paid £60.73 on a food shop that should have cost £233.57 full price, scoring a total of 147 items.

The super shopper explained on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group that she believed the large shop from Asda would last her family of seven a few weeks.  

She added that there was plenty of items left for other shoppers in case anyone accused her of being greedy. Most groups members were simply impressed she managed to snatch so many good promos. 

Items with yellow stickers are typically reduced because they are going out of date soon, with most supermarkets usually doing their reductions at set times throughout the day.

Lindsey shared a pictures of a shopping trolley completely filled with the reduced items, adorned with a yellow label – the sign that their price has gone down. 

Her trolley contained meat, crisps, family-sized bags of vegetables, bread and more. She added that some of the trolley’s contents was destined for a friend who had gone shopping with her. 

The post quickly gathered more than 3,000 likes and nearly 500 comments within hours of Lyndsey posting.  

She reassured commenters that there were plenty of items left over for other shoppers, in case she was accused of being greedy, but Facebook users said she didn’t have to justify herself, with one adding: ‘It’s a dog eat dog world.’
