A savvy mother has revealed she saved hundreds on her food shop by buying all of her goodies on an anti-food waste website.
Julia Young, 33, from Maidenhead, was fed up with astronomical food bills, so after doing a quick Google, she came across Best Before It’s Gone – a website that sells products which are nearing or past their best before dates at rock bottom prices.
The brand claims it saves its customers money by selling most of its products at 50 per cent off the original recommended retail price.
Julia, who bought everything from snack bars and crisps to toothpaste and hair care products from the website, spent £22.50 – saving herself a whopping £100.
‘I just typed cheap food into Google and Best Before It’s Gone popped up luckily,’ the stay-at-home mother-of-four said, speaking to money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk. ‘I had never heard of it until I typed that in but have since told my friends about it.’

She continued: ‘I wanted to order from them because they had cheap delivery and a wide range of products that suited my busy household.
‘My first order took a while to come but bearing in mind I ordered around the Christmas period that was to be expected.
‘Since that first order they have been prompt and efficient, and keep you updated with picking, packing and shipping brilliantly.
‘Updates on shipping are important to mothers on the school run as I’m forever missing parcels!’
Julia managed to bag goodies for the whole family and was delighted at the low prices. She also says that buying from this website is a great way to reduce food waste.

‘I ordered Oat So Simple porridge bars for my seven-year-old, toothpaste for the whole family, and biscuits and snacks for the children’s school lunches,’ she added.
‘I bought cases of organic sweetcorn rings and veggie puffs which are otherwise too expensive for the baby – 16 packets for 15p. I also ordered myself some hair care products for convenience and extreme value for money.’
‘I’m a vegetarian and vegetable crisps are incredibly expensive so I got an absolute bargain. I also got a case of Oreo bars as after school treats.’

‘I was ecstatic when I realised how much food I got for my money – three huge boxes full of all the extras for my children and the household goods,’ she said.
