A new range of quirky meerkat garden ornaments has hit the shelves just in time for Christmas – and customers can’t get enough of them.
The $8 garden ornaments are once again available from Woolworths, this time featuring the cute character in Christmas attire.
A $20 ‘light up’ variety have also been added to the range, exciting shoppers who have already started sweeping them off the shelves.

‘More Meerkats to add to the collection,’ one fan wrote alongside a picture of four of the figurines on Facebook.
The woman had managed to buy the present meerkat, wreath meerkat, Ms Claus meerkat and reindeer meerkat from her store.
And she wasn’t the only one to get in quickly after seeing the popular ornaments had been reinvented for the holidays.
‘I bought a set too,’ one woman said.
While others admitted they also ‘need them’.
‘I am going to Woolies tomorrow,’ one person promised.

But it could already be too late t collect the whole set, with the meerkat reindeer already listed as unavailable on the retailer’s website.
The other three in the Christmas 2021 set are still online as are the new light up editions.
The $20 range includes a meerkat dressed as a snowman, one holding a festive light bulb and an elf with a lantern.
Previous editions of the meerkats have sold out quickly after the product quickly demanded a cult-like following.

Popular meerkats have included Olympians, a bride and groom, a fairy and a life guard.
They have also been released in an animal range which included the fun characters ‘dressed up’ as a kangaroo, penguin, butterfly, mouse, crocodile and bumble bee.
In August the major retailer sold 60,000 of the popular ornaments in just one month.
The August release also included $5 DIY meerkat painting kits which appeared to be a hit for families in lockdown.
