Jake Paul gifts opponent Tyron Woodley a £9,000 Rolex watch just days before their fight… after the YouTube star offered the former UFC star £500,000 if he successful knocks him out in Tampa on Saturday

  • Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley will resume their rivalry on Saturday in Tampa
  • Woodley stepped in for Saturday night’s fight after Tommy Fury pulled out
  • Paul gifted Woodley a £9,000 Rolex Datejust watch just days before the contest
  • Paul, 24, has already offered Woodley £500,000 if he knocks the YouTuber out

Jake Paul handed rival Tyron Woodley a £9,000 Rolex watch just days before their exhibition boxing match on Saturday in Tampa, Florida.

The pair will meet for a rematch of the boxing bout that Paul won via split decision earlier this year after Love Island star Tommy Fury, the younger half-brother of heavyweight icon Tyson, pulled out through injury.

And as a sign of respect before his rivalry with Woodley resumes, Paul handed his opponent on Saturday a Rolex Datejust watch just days after promising the former UFC star £500,000 if the YouTuber is knocked out by him.

When asked to explain why he bought his compatriot a gift, Paul said: ‘As a gift of respect because it’s time for me to knock him out.’

Woodley responded: ‘I accept your gift. And all the bonuses, I accept it all. And I’m going to do the same thing on Saturday.

‘This dude is crazy. Do I know about this watch? Yeah I know about this watch. Why wouldn’t I accept it? He put a bow on it and wrapped it, I’m not going to be disrespectful.

‘I haven’t had an opponent do a lot of s*** that this dude do. Mentally, it’s warfare because you never know what to expect out of him.’

Paul’s war of words with Woodley has eased in recent months after the ex-UFC fighter kindly offered to step in on Saturday after Tommy Fury pulled out of his arranged fight with the YouTuber with a chest infection and a broken rib.

Paul, 24, lost all respect for Fury and claimed the ‘medical condition’ that the Briton used to pull out of the contest was ‘vaginitis’.

‘It’s official: Tommy Fury is boxing’s biggest b****,’ said Paul in an Instagram video earlier this month. ‘He has pulled out of the fight. The Furys have pulled out of the fight due to a “medical condition.”

‘Who knows what the f*** is going on in that camp? I think he has a bad case of bursitis. He fumbled the biggest bag of his life, now he will be watching at home, paying me $60 instead of getting paid millions of dollars to fight me.

‘I’ve fought with a broken nose, I’ve fought sick. Get the f*** over it, this is boxing. It’s official. He was scared. I think the pressure got to him, the s*** talk got to him. That’s the bad news.

‘The good news is that Mr Tyron Woodley, we called him up and we were like: “hey, do you want to take the fight?” He has been in training.

‘He was like: “Sure, we’ll take the fight, let’s do the rematch, run it back.” I’m giving him $500,000 extra dollars if he can knock me out.’

Paul also captioned the Instagram post: ‘When my team woke me up on Friday to tell me Tommy Fumbles was pulling out, I told them I’ll fight anyone on December 18th. Troy, Trey, Trevor, Travis,… I don’t give a f*** who it is.

‘Tommy’s pulling out because of a ‘medical condition’ called vaginitis. Unlike the Fury’s, Tyron actually has some balls, is stepping in, and contractually he is getting an extra $500,000 if he knocks me out. First time I outboxed him. This time I’m gonna punish him and leave no doubt.’

Fury put an end to rumours regarding his withdrawal later on Monday, saying a chest infection and broken rib has ruled him out of the contest.

A statement from the Briton read: ‘I am absolutely heartbroken that I have been forced to withdraw from my fight with Jake Paul due to a bacterial chest infection and broken rib.

‘I really do hope we can get this fight rescheduled in the new year. I want this fight to still happen more than anything.’
