Virgin Australia is bringing back its glitter-filled ‘Pride Flight’ with drag stars, DJs and bottomless drinks to get you to Mardi Gras in style

  • Virgin Australia is bringing back its spectacular Pride Flights again this year
  • The Pride Flights are a one-way journey from Melbourne and Brisbane to Sydney
  • They are set to take off on Friday March 4 to get passengers to Mardi Gras 
  • Patrons can enjoy entertainment from drag stars Coco Jumbo and Maxi Shield  
  • There will also be free-flowing drinks, DJs playing classic pride tunes and snacks


Virgin Australia is bringing back its Pride Flight for 2022 to help get patrons to Mardi Gras with some of the country’s favourite drag stars, DJs, and bottomless booze all on board for the ride.  

The airline’s rainbow and glitter-filled Pride Flights are a one-way leg to Sydney set to take off on Friday, March 4 just in time to celebrate the city’s annual Mardi Gras festival. 

Following the success of last year’s Pride Flight from Brisbane, Virgin have this year added a second journey from Melbourne.

Passengers can don their pride flags and lip sync for their lives while enjoying entertainment from RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under stars Maxi Shield and Coco Jumbo who are both on hosting duties. 

The hosts will be joined by award-winning Sydney drag queens Tora Hymen and Penny Tration, who also happens to be a Virgin Crew member.  

There will also be delicious snacks, non-stop classic pride tunes and free-flowing drinks throughout the journey.

$30 from each ticket will be donated to Australian charity Minus 18 that works to improve the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth across the country

A seat on the Brisbane or Melbourne Pride Flight will set you back $150 for Economy and $399 for First Class.

Tickets are on sale now from the Virgin Australia website but you better be quick as seating is limited.
