A professional cleaner who’s seven months pregnant claims she’s being ‘treated like a maid’ by a new client who underpays her.

Detailing her situation in a Facebook group, the woman said she allocates three hours every fortnight to clean the three-storey home, but the huge task has become difficult now that she’s heavily pregnant.

The woman asked if she’s being unreasonable for leaving the job earlier than expected since the client underpaid her previously.

‘I’m a cleaner and have an amazing bunch of clients, however I’ve taken on a new clean a few months ago and the lady seems to believe I’m a slave/maid,’ she wrote online.

‘She asks me to make her bed each time which is no problem however I’m now seven months pregnant, so it’s become more of a struggle.’

Rather than paying her for 3.5 hours the woman claims she was paid for 3.25 hours after the client asked they ‘meet in the middle’.

‘I’ve said its fine however I’ll be leaving on the three hour dot in future whether beds are made or not as I can’t work for free…am I being unreasonable? She’s made me feel awful,’ the woman wrote.

The post was ‘liked’ by more than 1,900 people and many said the cleaner was being ‘far too reasonable’ to the client.

‘No… why should you meet her halfway at all you are providing her a service I bet her employers would tell her where to go if she tried the same with them,’ one woman wrote.

‘This is what people do. They add on if you let them. Don’t be a slave to anyone,’ another wrote.

Another dubbed the client as ‘selfish’.

The woman said the positive comments has put into perspective how she’s being treated.

‘You’ve all really put my mind to rest that she’s the [cow] not me! Thank you all for cheering me up. I won’t be returning to her again!’ she wrote.
