Detailing the background to the discovery, Chris explained that he had found a mouse in his home and asked his wife Natasha Shishmanian to call pest control in order to remove the rodent from their property.

However Natasha, 40, soon got back to him via text and informed him that the exterminator was currently away helping those struggling in Ukraine.

Chris said: ‘He hasn’t been around for a while because he has been busy driving to Ukraine and bussing refugees back to the UK, funded by Rod Stewart.

‘And I’ve just found all this out now. Isn’t that just great? It’s very moving, that is very moving. I haven’t heard Rod Stewart talking about that at all.’

This comes after Rod sent a supportive message to a firm who had been delivering aid to those in Ukraine amid the ongoing crisis.

Rod told operations manager Martin Jackson: ‘Martin, it’s Rod Stewart here mate. Well done, for getting out there and helping.

‘I’ve sponsored four trucks that are in Germany at the minute, they will come and meet you in Poland. Well done, son, I’m proud of you.’

Rod is just one of a host of celebrities who have put their hand in their pockets in order to help those affected by the war in Ukraine.

Speaking to Sky News on the red carpet the Power of the Dog star, seen wearing a Ukraine flag pin badge, said: ‘It is a really shocking time to be a European two and a half hours flight away from Ukraine, and it’s something that hangs over us.

‘I think already today the news has broken that there’s been a record number of people volunteering to take people into their homes, and I hope to be part of that myself.’

Former England and Leicester City striker Gary Lineker has also vowed to take in refugees, having previously opened his Surrey home to refugees from other countries.
